The marking of then Lt(jg.) Everett Alvarez A-4C Skyhawk of U.S. Navy Attack Squadron VA-144 is slowly coming to life, as the George T. Baker students apply the quality work

The "Stars and Bars" being applied along the aircraft side number "411"

The carrier U.S. Constellation, CV-64 had the carrier air wing code of "NK" indicating that it was a U.S. West Coast based squadron. The "9578" are the last four digits of the U.S. Navy Buno identification number, sort of the civilian version of an FAA tail number. Note the "Warner Brothers Road Runner" head being applied. That was the squadron mascot representing the name "The Road Runner"

Another trait marking of U.S. Navy Attack Squadron VA-144 was the light bolt applied to both sides of the aircraft fuselage. In the 1960's U.S. Navy aircraft were adorned with very colorful markings, as the modern day tactical grey paint scheme was not in effect
