Mr. Jack Tannair the proprietor of Global Turbine Services, Inc. a proper FAA, FAR-145 commercial jet engine repair and overhaul facility, located within the Medley section Miami, Florida explains some fine details about the Pratt and Whitney JT8D-15 engine to Mr. Steve Sagortt and Mr. Mark Bowen from Aviation Airmotive

With well over 25,000 square feet of operable shop floor space, Global Turbine Services (GTS), Inc. is one of the largest FAA, FAR-145 commercial jet engine repair and overhaul facility located in Miami, Florida. GTS is rated to services the Pratt and Whitney JT3, the F-33 the military designation of the JT3, the JT8D (all series) and the turbo-prop PT6A (all series) just to name a few engine models

With that said out of the 234 or so rated FAA, FAR-145 shop within the whole South, Florida area, currently, there are about ten engine shops in Miami, Florida.
